Silvercorp is seeking a VP, Operations to transition mining projects to the operating phase, oversee operational activities of active mines, and ensure compliance of safety regulations. You will be responsible for all aspects of mine operation activities. You will be required to provide technical oversight and training for mining and engineering teams, prepare operating budgets, implement mining best practices and regular performance evaluations, optimize operational procedures, and liaise with overseas offices.

You should have extensive knowledge in mining operations, as well as post-secondary education in related fields. The requirement for your professional skills includes technical knowledge of open-pit and underground mining, ability to lead others, strong capabilities with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, and Outlook) and related software packages such as Micromine, Datamine, ArcGIS, and Leapfrog. Previous experience working in Africa will be a strong asset.

Your experience requirements:

• Successfully taken mining projects through all development stages including PEA, PFS, FS, and production
• Successfully built team for a sustainable operation
• Successfully dealt with a project that changed your company
• Successfully settled a major outstanding issue or challenge for your company

You should be a team player and have a motivation for achievement. Your personality characteristics also include excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to accuracy and detail, and ability to work with different cultures across different time zones.

This position will be based in the Vancouver head office and require extensive travel.

Total compensation (salary + bonus + share-based compensation) for the successful candidate will be around $400,000.
