Senior Mining Engineer: Bilingual (English/Mandarin)
China's largest primary silver producer, a public company headquartered in Vancouver, BC, is seeking an experienced bilingual (English/Mandarin) Senior Mining Engineer. Duties will include:
- Medium and long-term mine planning and scheduling;
- New project assessment;
- Conducting project scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies;
- Providing mine engineering support to mine operations; and
- Site assistance as required.
The ideal candidate will have 10 to 15 years of mining engineering design experience, especially in underground mine operations. You will possess a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining Engineering and be a Registered Professional Engineer.
Skills, knowledge & abilities in the ideal candidate include:
- Proficient with AutoCAD and mine software such as Surpac;
- Experience in project management, report writing for scoping and feasibility studies, and estimating and scheduling;
- General knowledge of applicable mining regulations, safety codes and acts;
- Familiarity with underground excavation and construction of mine development, shafts, raises and construction for mine infrastructure;
- Ability to handle change, self starter, work with minimum supervision and be critical of one's own work; and
- Willingness to travel.
